Publisher Description
The Bad Writing Advice Guy is a reminder to writers of all ages that, in order to write well, we must force our demons—those in our heads and those well-meaning friends who wish to offer advice—OUT of the room! The only person who can know what should happen in the writing while the writing is happening is the writer. Period. Writers know when it is time to ask for advice, and then, if they are wise, they ask for lots of it.
Customer Reviews
Very nicely illustrated! Feel of a sketchbook!
Lovable characters and an unalloyed sense of goodness makes the book work!
Awesome advice for young writers
The subtle message this book conveys rings true for every writer but particularly for budding writers as they develop their writing talents. I have used this book with my students so they begin to see, in a fun way, how true writing comes from the writers own interests. When writers write about what matters to them, they write with voice. The creative illustrations captured the attention of my students. Teachers will find this book useful to explain to their students the true essence of writing.
I will definitely recommend this book to teachers and their students!
Fun book
I bought this book for my 7 year old while I was at the airport, which he enjoyed reading. The illustrations in particular are eye catching!
