The Battle of Jutland

The Battle of Jutland, off the Danish coast, was the greatest clash of battleships in history when the Royal Navy and German High Seas Fleet encountered one another in late May, 1916. The German Naval Command conceived of an expedition to trim down the larger British fleet through a carefully planned raid. However, British Naval Intelligence had broken German naval codes and the hunter became the hunted. 


This Pentagoet History is an account of the battle itself, the long and short-term events which led up to the battle, and the short and long-term consequences.  Integral to this history are  comprehensive static and animated maps giving a clear, minute by minute description of the course of the battle.  Also included are a bibliography and a glossary.
