There was a time when adventurers flocked to the city of Harwood from all over Generika to test their strength, intelligence, dexterity, etc. against the vicious beasts and deadly traps of Castle Brutcake.  Unfortunately, those days are long gone.  The dungeon-exploration bubble burst a few years back, and Harwood's economy has been in something of a slump ever since.  Adventurers have grown weary of sifting through the ruins, looking for scraps left by previous explorers.  Many have gone on to find respectable jobs.
 
But there are still some who cling to the adventuring tradition.  Stalwart men and women and... other things who long to grab adventure by the seat of its trousers and shake it until the belt buckle of danger snaps open and the bare buttocks of fame and glory are theirs for the spanking.
 
Such a man is Verbal Reynard, a cynical rogue who is hired to accompany the wizard Elron and the paladin Valkyrie on their ridiculous quest to save the world.  From the cult-infested sewers of Harwood to the heavily commercialized dungeons of Castle Brutcake, Verbal and his comrades must overcome wererats, demons, assassins, and wandering monsters too numerous to count as they search for the legendary Glass Eye and Iron Fist of Vort!
