The Beeswax Candle

Gracie plans to meet her friend, Darla, in Wallerton for a day of shopping. A practice robot is on sale at the Techies store, and Gracie has been on the robotics team throughout middle school. She doesn't want to lose her spot next year. Buying a robot is a good way to hide her real reason for going to town. She will buy a lavender beeswax candle for her mother. Gracie has heard her mom roam around in the living room when she can't sleep at night. The aroma from a beeswax candle helps cancer patients sleep well and reduces anxiety as they wait for treatment. Her mother's surgery is on the following Monday. Gracie isn't worried. Her mother has taught her to create happier stories to think about. She has also explained cancer and taught Gracie to trust God for a safe and happy trip through life.
