Socket Greeny thought the gathering was just another underground tech party. Illegal virtualmode demos. Black-market gear. A night of hacked projections and reckless people trying to blur the line between gaming and reality.

Then he saw the blue light in the woods.

What starts as curiosity turns into something far stranger when Socket and his friends leave the safety of the fires to investigate mysterious flashes deep in the trees. Strange creatures move overhead. Gold eyes watch from the darkness. And a terrified man carrying a book filled with rambling sketches warns them of something called the fakes.
