From USA Today best-selling author Marni Mann comes a gripping story about secrets, loss, and finding the better version of yourself in the wake of tragedy.
At forty-two, Jesse Black had the perfect life. Even after surviving her father’s passing, she still had everything she dreamed of—two beautiful children and a husband madly in love with her. She was the owner of one of the most successful shapewear companies in the country. There was even a white picket fence around their home in Vermont.
But underneath all that sparkle, shine, and achievement, Jesse was harboring a secret.
A secret that would rip their perfect family apart and alter their lives forever—if it was ever revealed.
a great romance with a big twist
Jesse Black is the CEO of Cinched and a mother of two children, Viv & Tommy. She’s married to her best friend,Emery Black, who’s an architect. He just got the offer of a lifetime designing a new high rise and they both decided he is going to need an assistant & that Jesse is going to step back from work to be home more. That’s where Charlotte Scott comes into the picture as the new assistant. Not everything in life is always black and white and sometimes what you think is a perfect life has secrets that can change everything you know forever. This is told in multiple POV and is NOT a cheating book. You will have to read for yourself to find out what is really happening but this was a touching story that I believe you will enjoy. I can’t say too much as I don’t want to spoil anything.
Omg this book! Blew me away!
Emotional and unique story!
The Assistant by Marni Mann blew me away. It was unexpected and all-consuming and not what I was expecting at all. The blurb talks about a couple and their family, but this story is so much more and most likely the last thing you can think off. This is truly one time you really should avoid all spoilers and just take the journey. A story of before and afters that will draw you right in and never let you go. I thought about it for days after I was done.
The story is told in multiple point of views and begins with Jesse and Emery Black. When their lives suddenly gets busier, Jesse suggests an assistant, enter Charlotte Scott. From the first words to the very last, my heart was shattered in so many ways. Marni Mann gave us a unique and emotional story with a twist you do not see coming that will leave you reeling!
4.5-stars. Happy reading!
