The author worked with old jewellery and gems for over forty years, but considers the finest gem in the world to be the Bible, God’s Word.
To assess a jewel correctly seven factors must be considered:
1. Is it genuine?
2. The colour
3. The clarity
4. The cutting
5. The setting
6. The size
7. Is it damaged?
Drawing upon the skills of his profession, the author, in a most interesting and authentic way, applies the above seven factors to the Bible. He suggests that Bible students must also apply these to each passage of the Scriptures if they are to correctly understand what it teaches.
The central section on ‘cutting’ is most enlightening and helpful.
