Publisher Description
Rainy Phoenix Knight is a Pacific Northwest writer and artist living with her husband, two sons, and four cats. A follower of Buddhist and Earth-centered spiritual paths for over 30 years, her memoir The Bipolar Bodhisattva explores trauma, madness, and awakening through a Jungian lens.
Using psychology, philosophy, and mysticism, she found ways to heal herself from a lifetime of severe trauma that standard psychiatry often could not reach. Only by going beyond the limits of standard treatments was she able to find healing.
When she is not writing or painting, she is gardening, hiking, reading, and thinking about Everything, usually while herding cats. Sitting at the intersection of lived experience and sacred practice, she believes the borderlands of the mind deserve exploration and mapping.
