I usually read about 30-40+ books a year. I usually read books from Clive Cussler, Brad Thor, Vince Flynn, John Sandford, Stuart Woods and many others, with a view biographies thrown in. I was a little unsure what I was going to find when I started this book as the first reviews were a little short.
Not only was I wrong to be unsure but I have added Dane Schiffman to my list of authors to watch for. If you are a fan of action and conspiracy books than you have found a winner. The author does a good job letting you learn about the characters personality through their interactions with others versus wasting time on their back story. He also does a great job describing his environments, making me feel like I am right there with the characters.
Along with the character development and environment the execution of action and dialog is right on. The author has come up with a great story line that leaves you wondering and wanting more as you read, and action suspense thriller with some mystery thrown in. The main character is strong and witty; she shows her confidence and strength through her words and actions, with just the right amount of sass.
I am purposely being vague in my description as I do not want to take away from your experience when you read the book. I can honestly say that I have enjoyed this book as much as the books from all the authors above. I anxiously await the second book in this series and I will be downloading it on the day it is released.
