Description de l’éditeur
A matchless warrior is pitted against a near-God in the second epic installment of the Raven’s Blade series.
It has long been our lot in life, brother, to do what others can’t.
Vaelin Al Sorna was known across the realm as the greatest of warriors, but he thought battles were behind him. He was wrong. Prophecy and rumor led him across the sea to find a woman he once loved, and drew him into a war waged by the Darkblade, a man who believes himself a god—and one who has gathered a fanatical army that threatens all of the known world.
After a costly defeat by the Darkblade, Vaelin’s forces are shattered, while the self-proclaimed immortal and his army continue their terrible march. But during the clash, Vaelin regained some of the dark magic that once gave him unrivaled skill in battle. And though the fight he has been drawn into seems near unwinnable, the song that drives him now desires the blood of his enemy above all else…
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Epic fantasy fans will savor Ryan's second Raven's Blade novel (after The Wolf's Call), which offers an action-packed return to the richly imagined Merchant Kingdoms of the Far West. Warrior Vaelin Al Sorna has been infected with a bloodlust that he struggles to control, even as he hopes to unite the forces of the Merchant Realms against an existential threat; Kehlbrand Reyerik, also known as Darkblade and rumored to be a living god, leads a massive army in a ruthless assault that aims at global conquest. To beat back Kehlibrand, Vaelin must first learn to control his bloodlust. He makes his way to the Temple of Spears, a monastery that promises relief from his inner torment if he masters several challenges. Both returning readers and those new to the series will be drawn in by the expert worldbuilding, crackling dialogue, gripping action, and subtle shifts of the political chessboard. Those impatient for George R.R. Martin's conclusion to A Song of Fire and Ice will find this series a satisfying substitute.

Incredible book in an. Incredible series!
Amazing as always! I hope there is a next book!
Solid addition to the series
I didn’t like this book as much as The Wolf’s Call, mostly due to an overemphasis on rushing through the plot and the characters we get to know and love from the Wolf’s Call take a background seat but all in all I enjoyed it and I can never get enough of my boy Vaelin Al Sorna
