The Black Swan

A short poem about a lover I had long wondered if I would ever meet (again.) I go into my memories and look for hope in order to find a happy ending, where there had only been sorrow and bitterness before. This poem (and the experience it is based on) helped heal me of the memory of being quite uptight and stand-offish when I was young. On rare occasions we get to relive the past and reinvent our actions - I seized the opportunity to do what's right, humble and kind the second time around, making for a memorable retelling of a long-ago encounter.
