A thrilling juvenile mystery with a delightful mixture of historical information and pleasing fiction. A pair of girl sleuths (who predate Nancy Drew by almost a generation) investigate the secrets of an abandoned house that none of the locals know anything about. I found this book after reading in Beverly Cleary's autobiography that the author was one of her favorite's when she was a girl.
