The journey described in the present volume of the series, in which Frank Bassett and Fred Bronson have been conspicuous, is the natural sequence of the tour of those youths through Great Britain and Ireland, in company with the mother and sister of Frank. Mrs. Bassett and Mary have accompanied our juvenile friends in their most recent travels; the former continues to fall into illusions now and then, while her vivacious dauther is as keen as ever in the pursuit of information concerning the countries she visits, and evinces the same umwearying determination to make the most of the oppotunities for acquainting herself with the history, condition, manners, customs, and peculiarities of the people among whom the travellers find their way.
