A sexy new series of standalone romances from New York Times bestselling author Kendall Ryan.
I’m not boyfriend material.
If a trail of broken hearts and a piss-poor record of failed relationships have taught me anything, it’s this. My buddies are happy to give me shit about my latest breakup from here to next Sunday. Thanks, but I’d rather have a root canal.
And a vasectomy.
At the same time.
Relief comes in an unlikely package—the gorgeous and feisty Maren. She just so happens to be my best friend’s sister, so that’s not awkward at all.
But I’m a man on a mission, and Maren is down to teach me all the ways I’ve been failing as a boyfriend. Apparently, there are many. And it’s all very informative—until I start to catch feelings.
Now it’s not just my reputation on the line, but my heart too.

Frisky and Risky and Sweet and Sexy
There's something just so appealing about a little bit of the forbidden, like, say, falling for your best friend's sister. That apparently goes against some 'bro code' (don't ask me why, I don't get it), and that is somehow like an undeniable magnetic pull in the world of romance. Case in point, THE BOYFRIEND EFFECT, the first book in the Frisky Business series by author Kendall Ryan.
This is not a new trope for Kendall, but she does it very well, so I'm not complaining. I mean, it isn't hard to like Hayes Ellison. He's not had the best luck in the world of dating, and, also, he's harboring a years-long crush on his best friend and business partner's little sister. Danger, Will Robinson...what's a guy to do except give it the old college try, even though he's veritably dying to date the heck out of this girl.
Luckily, Hayes is not alone in his feelings, because Maren has a little crush of her own, and it doesn't take much more than realizing this for the ball to get rolling, and sparks to fly. It's sweet, and sexy, and love the way that Kendall does so well.
This is a fun and easy read, but I have to admit to really wanting to get to Wolfie's story, because he is a hoot. In the meantime, get the ball rolling with THE BOYFRIEND EFFECT and enjoy your introduction to the friskiest business around. ❤️
Loved this story
Great story couldn’t put it down
It structure of the book and the wording make it seem like it’s written by a love sick 15 year old. It feels stale and emotionless. I cringe whenever the characters talk about their “sexual tension” about the other character. The characters are shallow and 2 dimensional.
