The Bride of Lammermoor

Sir Walter Scott was a Scottish historical novelist, playwright, and poet. Scott was the first modern English-language author to have a truly international career in his lifetime,with many contemporary readers in Europe, Australia, and North America. His novels and poetry are still read, and many of his works remain classics of both English-language literature and of Scottish literature.


'The Bride of Lammermoor' is a historical novel first published in 1819. The novel is included in the vseries 'Tales of The Landlord'. The story is set in Scotland during the reign of Queen Anne. It tells us a story of forbidden love similar to the story of Romeo and Juliete. The novel is based upon real events and depicts the life of the Scottish aristocracy of those times.
