The Brown Book

The Brown Book, provides an introduction to the Māori screen industry in Aotearoa New Zealand, and the role that Ngā Aho Whakaari, the association of Māori in screen production, has played in that evolution. The book remembers those who have made a significant contribution to the sector, in text and videos. It shares insights into Māori language and culture, especially for those unfamiliar with Te Reo me Tikanga Māori. This book is an invaluable window into the world of Māori (indigenous) film  and television.
