Publisher Description
The Buddha’s Law Among The Birds is based on a translation of a 17-18th century Tibetan text entitled Bya cos rin-cheṅ, phreṅ-ba describing how a group of birds met on a holy mountain in the Himalayas under the leadership of a cuckoo to be instructed on the basic tenets of Buddhist thought and practice. Similar to the classic Sanskrit Jatakas, this short treatise is a delightful abstraction from the usually terse prose of Buddhist texts and is clearly designed for the common layperson.
