Publisher Description

I just inherited an apple orchard in Nova Scotia.

That’s definitely a sentence I never would have imagined saying in my life.

I’ve only ever been a socialite from New York, but that orchard is my chance to prove to my family, and myself, that I can do more. Be more. I may not exactly know what I want out of life yet, but I’m determined to stick to something—and no, I’m not talking about the bee farmer next door.

Here’s what I know. If I can’t tough out one full month of a rooster waking me at sunrise, a poolhall parrot with a foul mouth, and a llama that swings both ways, not only will I lose my self respect, I’ll lose my trust fund too.

Here’s what I don’t know. Why my neighbor with the bad attitude and a whole lot of sexy seems hell bent on sending me home. Well screw him. Not literally, of course. Except I just stumbled into his apiary, and got a look at the head beekeepers…stinger.

Funny, steamy and wonderfully written

I loved this fun and quirky city gal/farmer boy romance from one of my go-to authors! Alyson and Jay were complete opposites in almost every way at the start of their wet and wild introduction, but deep dow, they’re more alike then they think.
I adored Alyson’s plucky, can-do...or at least, try to do...attitude, which she needs in spades when she lays her eyes on her inheritance. The girl doesn’t stick with much, and now she’s learning to milk cows and run a farmstand. Jay is a hardworking, gorgeous, small town guy, but he’s much more than just a farmer. He’s a great big brother, a loyal friend and embraces sustainable living.
The burn was slow but when it finally ignited, it was super-nova hot. Alyson begins to fit into all areas of Jay’s life, his family included, but can they overcome both their differences as well as a secret or two. Add in a bit of suspense and I couldn’t put this book down!
Taking place in Nova Scotia, a place I’ve long wanted to visit, the setting adds another layer to this rich, engaging story. Cathryn Fox definitely penned another winner with The Burbs and the Bees...appropriately titled, as well!

City girl to farm girl

The Burbs and The Bees by Cathryn Fox was such a great story of believing in yourself and falling in love. Alyson, a trust-fund, city girl, who has never had to hold down a job makes a bet with her own parents. This bet takes her to a farm in Nova Scotia where she meets her hot, bee-loving neighbor, Jay. What follows is a story of funny moments, great banter, and a happily ever after. This was a different type of story for me. I enjoyed the farm story but from a female’s side of working a farm. I was able to read this as an ARC from the publisher. This was my first Cathryn Fox book but it definitely is not going to be my last!
