Publisher Description
The Bus Driver is a clever counting book chronicling a typical day and route in a bus driver's life. Kids will love counting along from 1 to 10 as our bus driver picks up more and more passengers with different occupations from all walks of life—and then they can count down from 10 to 1 as the driver drops them off and winds down for the day.
Todd H. Doodler's engaging illustrations and rhyming text are right on the mark. Parents will enjoy reading and counting as much as their children. Come on aboard and join the fun!
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Doodler, the pen name for artist Todd Harris Goldman, counts from one to 10 and back again, as a bus fills up with passengers and then drops them off at their destinations. The characters' arrivals and departures unfold in lively rhymes, though the meter is all over the place ("Around the corner, three fireman were out of luck,/ stranded with a broken truck./ He picked up four boys covered in dirt,/ then five basketball players wearing their team shirt"). The crisp, brightly colored digital cartoons are attention-getting, and the bus shape of the book, with wheels protruding from the bottom edge, is a nice touch. Up to age 4.
