Fascinating read - time travel, French Indian War, Chinese and German Commandos
I really like The Chinese Solution. Here I thought Pittsburgh was best known for its beloved Steelers, but now appreciate the history this region owns to the French-Indian War.
Interesting take on the what-if of Washington not winning the Revolution and enjoyed the dialogue with our first president. The combat scenes were well thought out and I learned more about a famous German commando. The author does a nice job borrowing bits of history to weave a good story. I recommend this read.
The Chinese Solution
After reading the 1st in the series, The Calvary
Incident, this follow-up did not have the same fresh novelty attraction. However, I did enjoy getting to know the main characters better. This book and series has as it's backbone military combat from a hand to hand and small arms viewpoint. The action is from face to face conflicts. The time travel puts it in a new locale, but the basic action would appeal to the up close and personal combat fan.
