Each week the city enters the Courtesy, a licensed interval in which certain boundary violations become difficult to name, harder to prove, and indecent to insist upon. The city does not call this innocence. It calls it order.
Meral Sorn works inside the Office of Civic Accordance, where harm is translated into survivable language and the city is returned clean by morning.
