The Collected John Carter Volume 2

A very resplendent, entertaining, and imaginative creation--a masterpiece of its time. Edgar Rice Burroughs tantalize's his readers in such a cliff hanging sensation lending one to hasten to its storyend. In my opinion, Mr. Rice's writing skills vividly paints such an imaginative sensation in ones subconscious ... certainly mine. If you're seeking entertainment of adventure, thrill, and romance this collection is a must read.

John Carter is a mensch.

Even when he just makes cameos he's awesome. I was concerned by his diminished role in this volume, but needlessly so, I realized, as Barsoom is still a vicious, glorious planet, its damsels are still worth saving, and its heroes are always game.
