The Coloured Horse

Publisher Description

A routine call out for a double homicide. If you could label a double homicide, as routine, brings out, Detective Chief Inspector Jack Wigginton. A late-night double homicide of a nun and a priest provokes an investigation.

However, nothing in this case is normal. Having arrived back at the police station, in the early hours of the morning, following the murders. Jack and his team realise they have little in the way of clues or motives. Jack is surprised to see the Assistant Police Commissioner, sitting at his desk. A point that rankles with Jack.

Jack is dismayed, and angry when told to hand any evidence that has been collected, over to Special Branch. Then he is ordered to leave the case to the experts. Despite warnings to the contrary, Jack and his sidekick, Detective Sergeant Jane Roscoe, carry on investigating under the radar.

The case is not what it seems. Everything that Jack and Jane learn about the murders only ends up leading them to more murders and more mystery. It would appear the might of large financial companies, who will stop at nothing to further their own agenda, could be limitless in their ends.

It begins to look like the investigation is being stifled by security services but what could be the motive?

Will they be able to solve this, or will their best efforts be thwarted? Or worse? Jack's best police investigative powers are pushed to the limit. Whether this case will get solved, is open to debate. But the intervention of MI5 and the CIA would suggest that the chances of solving it will be slim, or non-existent. Primarily, because of undue influence from high up in the corridors of power.

A fast-paced, political, espionage, crime thriller.
