The complete idiot's guide to motorcycles is putting it lightly...

The title is a contradiction, unless of course the view point is not that the reader is an idiot in regards to motorcycles, rather the reader is an idiot in regards to life.

Idiot at life ...
1. Book explains how to meet other bikers.
2. Book explains the benefits of wearing a helmet.
3. Book lists websites with more info. This is a 2 parter for me. 1. Why is that extra info not in the book I just paid $19.99 for. 2. Google gave me the same sites for free.

If this were actually a book for motorcycle beginners it would go into great detail explaining the various mechanical systems of the bike and what they actually do. Yes these systems are topics but more often than not the various components are rattled off without so much as a coma and than further muddled by the complete lack of clear diagrams. I had to stop reading at some points just to google some images of what I was suppose to be visualizing.

Yes I'm glad I read it. Yes there is very helpful information in regards to all things motorcycle related. Even the bit about helmets was interesting in terms of component materials. The question though is does this information warrant the $19.99, which I have concluded it does not.
