The Control Panel

The Control Panel is a guide for leaders operating in complexity—where authority is shared, accountability overlaps, and clarity is rarely handed to you. Written for those leading across functions, disciplines, and personalities, it addresses the reality of influence without control.

Rather than offering rigid frameworks or step-by-step playbooks, Justin Martin invites readers into deeper self-awareness. He explores how leaders show up in high-stakes conversations, how internal narratives shape external outcomes, and how unexamined assumptions quietly drive behavior. The focus is not on managing others first—but on understanding the internal control panel that governs perception, energy, and response.

Central to the book is the concept of capacity—not as a productivity metric, but as a human condition shaped by life both inside and outside of work. By reframing leadership around clarity, presence, and responsibility, The Control Panel offers a more sustainable path for navigating ambiguity, building trust, and making sound decisions in environments that resist simple answers.
