Just what I was searching for

I've been practicing CR for 8 months and reading everything I can find about it. Just 42 pages into the book, I can say with confidence that this is the best thing I've read on the subject so far. It provides a thorough scientific background of what CR is and what it does—so that a layperson can understand. The book is written very well and with a minimum of hyperbole. If you seek to understand the science behind CR, this book should be on your bookshelf or in your eReader.

Update (7/26/2011):

I just finished the book and it did not disappoint. This is a great overall guide to CR. There is lots of science, practical info, cheat sheets of "CR approved" foods, etc. The author's approach is going to be overwhelming for all but the most diehard CR practitioner. The point is, take from it what you will and leave the rest. Maybe come back to it months or years later for more. For me, the most valuable info was about blood glucose and AGEs. I will be paying particular attention to both going forward.
