Wonderful characters - of course
Dickens is one of the best at character development. He will invariably inspire kindness, mercy, and goodwill in any reader willing to cast off modern skepticism and wholeheartedly embrace his heroes. This short story is a glimpse of the mastery he works in his longer novels.
Pleasant
This was a very pleasant short story to read. I enjoyed this book although you can tell it has not been written recently.
