Customer Reviews
I absolutely adored this short story.
So I’ve read the whole Parasol Protectorate series and her father is a bit of a mysterious figure. We hear bits and pieces from Floote and find certain things, but this is a lovely adventure starring Alessandro Tarabotti in Egypt.
In the Parasol books, we get little whispers that Mr. Tarabotti was in Egypt and did something there, but we don’t hear about the actual details. This short story digs into the details and tells us what precisely he was up to there. We hear him called “Curse-Breaker” and see the politics which were revealed later in the series - the tension between the Templars and the casual English acceptance of the supernatural.
