Dark and Disturbing
This is my first Graphic Novel read/review. So I will give my thoughts just like I would any other book even though it really was very different.
I don’t usually read content like this (except for one manga my teen had me read). I wanted to try something out of my comfort zone and the author had put out feelers for people to review their work…a graphic novel set as a ballad was out of my comfort zone for sure! I love horror, thriller, and suspense so I figured a story like this would be a good one to read to give it a try.
The art is really good…amazing. I loved it! It is dark and disturbing. It’s perfect for this story line.
The story was a bit hard for me to follow at times. Some of the rhyme in the poetry just seemed forced and words felt out of place for what I thought was trying to be said. Overall it was a really good read and maybe I just need to challenge myself more to read this type of work!
I enjoyed the tone of this story and the plot behind it all.
The combination of the graphics and the writing is what rolls this all up nicely. I really do want to see what’s going to happen next with Drakko’s path and how this ended.
I will be waiting for the next ones to release.
