The information found in this book is dated, but science and continued research only backs up McPhee’s descriptions and direct quotes. Added to that, reputable news reports of everything that was predicted fifty years ago.
It’s a great read but a frightening read.

Even for a novice curious about the topic of nuclear energy (or maybe especially for a novice) this book presents material in moderately easy and interesting approaches. A good read to establishing a fundamental knowledge base for further explorations.
Easy -- but excellent -- read
I was stunned to read this and have sent over a dozen copies to Congressmen with copies of clipping that I made over four years time from newspapers.
Eerily, this book might be a damning forecast of nuclear terrorism in the United States and Russia.
