Instant New York Times bestselling sequel to The Beautiful
Following the events of The Beautiful, Sébastien Saint Germain is now cursed and forever changed. The treaty between the Fallen and the Brotherhood has been broken, and war between the immortals seems imminent. The price of loving Celine was costly.
But Celine has also paid a high price for loving Bastien. Still recovering from injuries sustained during a night she can't quite remember, her dreams are troubled. And she doesn't know she has inadvertently set into motion a chain of events that could lead to her demise and unveil a truth about herself she's not ready to learn.
Forces hiding in the shadows have been patiently waiting for this moment. And just as Bastien and Celine begin to uncover the danger around them, they learn their love could tear them apart.
The Damned, Renée's latest installment in The Beautiful series is just as decadent, thrilling, and mysterious as her last, as she continues her most potent fantasy series yet.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
This paranormal romance will give you all the sexy-vampire fun you’ve been craving. The bewitching follow-up to The Beautiful piles on tons of delicious drama—and danger—in 19th-century New Orleans. At the center of the action is Bastien, who’s just been transformed into a vampire…and isn’t happy about it. He’s in love with the fiercely independent Celine, but she’s recovering from injuries she can barely remember sustaining. On top of it all, an epic civil war is brewing among the immortal beings who live just below society’s surface. Renée Ahdieh’s luscious writing draws you right into this dark and beautiful world where emotions run high, and so does physical attraction. Equal parts seductive and supernatural, The Damned will leave you pining for the next installment.
It gets better the more you read
Beautifully written with exciting twists and turns. The authors use of language(s) beckons to a time long past and ages old stories of love, loss, and the choices one must make to mark their place in the world or be lost to the monsters both around and within.
I just want to imply that I do not agree with the statement made by “callistaballista”. This is one of the best book I have ever read. I truly enjoy this book, it might even be one of my favorites.
This was good
I enjoyed this. Great characters and settings, though the action really didn’t pick up until almost the end of the book. I love anything New Orleans and vampires! Will definitely be reading the next book.
