A good historical romance!
The Damsel follows Alys, an orphan used and abused by her family. The knight Burke Fitzgavin won her heart three years past and disappeared from her life. Now he's back and determined to make her his bride or so he proclaims. Alys struggles to believe Burke and his determined pursuit before they can find their way to an HEA full of family stuggles and strife. I found Alys to be stubborn and aggravating as Burke won my heart more quickly than hers. A good historical romance with memorable characters enhanced with a little danger and adventure. My voluntary review is based upon a review copy.
I am halfway through the book & feel the same situation is repeating itself over & over & over again. For Pete’s sake, she’s stubborn but no one is this bully headed! It’s beginning to be annoying.
