Fitness & Faith
n recent years I’ve put much emphasis on my emotional physical and spiritual health. I’ve made some excellent strides and feel proud of the progress I’ve made. This book is the next step for me in that process.
Rick Warren, along with the help of some medical and fitness experts look at health as a whole and what types of things work for a support structure as we try to be better stewards of the bodies God has given us.
The Daniel Plan is made to be done in community. It’s a plan that doesn’t work alone but rather made to be done in a group. It’s not just a fitness plan or a diet plan or a focus or trend. It begins with the heart and changes everything else.

I bought this book and it does NOT download onto my iDevice any longer

...with the review posted by DLCintheOC; she is spot on. This book needs a proofreader. Or maybe it's just that Rick Warren's philosophy of writing follows the philosophy expressed by the individual who observed that, "In order to produce a hit song, you need to break at least one grammatical rule." In that case, this book should be a bestseller. For someone like me, a writer who can't follow grammatical rules, uses incorrect terminology over and over (there's a difference between "healthy" and "healthful"), and insists on talking about "getting healthy" instead of "becoming healthy" doesn't make me think he's just plain folks; he makes me think that he is uneducated, and therefore unreliable in other things as well – namely, what he's writing about. Unfortunately, Mr. Warren's style perpetuates the popular conception of Christians as being uneducated Rubes who think you just have to utter the word "Jesus" in order to get a hearing from their fellow Rubes. I'm sorry to have to write this, because I like Rick Warren; I just wish that when he puts a book out on the market, he would realize how it affects his audience beyond the walls of The Saddleback community.
