Transition is the second volume in the Nexus Odyssey series. A fragile foothold was established on Mars during the first volume. The sequel takes up the story of how humanity deals with the discovery of another life form and the schism which develops between the two planets. A second discovery on Mars throws the relationship into potential meltdown, sending a very a sobering message to Earth.
