IN THIS ASYLUM, YOUR MIND PLAYS TRICK ON YOU ALL THE TIME ...Delia's new house isn't just a house. Long ago, it was the Piven Institute for the Care and Correction of Troubled Females -- an insane asylum nicknamed "Hysteria Hall." However, many of the inmates were not insane, just defiant and strong willed. Kind of like Delia herself. But the house still wants to keep "troubled" girls locked away. So, in the most horrifying way, Delia becomes trapped. And that's when she learns that the house is also haunted.Ghost girls wander the hallways in their old-fashioned nightgowns. A handsome ghost boy named Theo roams the grounds. Delia learns that all the spirits are unsettled and full of dark secrets. The house, too, harbors shocking truths within its walls -- truths that only Delia can uncover, and that may set her free. And she'll need to act quickly -- before the house's power overtakes everything she loves.Katie Alender brings heart-pounding suspense, gorgeous writing, and a feminist twist to this tale of memories and madness.

Dear Little Namesake,
If you’re looking for a book that’s equal parts twisted paranormal and emotionally wonderful plot lines, then you’ve found the right book.
My best friend of many years came to me one day, raving about this book and wanting me to read it. She even went so far as buying its digital copy on my IPad so that I can own it. I didn’t realize then how happy and grateful I’d be for her doing so.
I didn’t know what to expect from this book. But what I got was better then anything I imagined in my head. The characters, though many of them, are so wonderfully detailed and different from one another, that you can’t really struggle when trying to differentiate them. They’re all so uniquely themselves, that even I was finding myself pining after their presence in the book.
The plot line alone is something that should be greatly awarded. It’s so wonderfully developed and fleshed out throughout the book, that I never lost sight of it or wondered if the author simply forgot about it. I followed it through as easily as my own life, if that makes a lick of sense to whoever’s reading this. The plot line also has a great handful of plot twists; and ones so fittingly wonderful that when you reread the book, you spot the hints for the twists nestled secretly within the words. The hints are so obviously there, but you don’t know it till you’re done reading. It’s like a living person acknowledging a ghosts existence.
I could drone on for a long time about how wonderful this book is, but I won’t. This book hit every point of expectation for me. The ones that decides if a book is worthy of sitting on my shelf. And trust me, this book easily sits at the top of my shelf, where all my absolute favorites go.
So if you’re antsy about whether or not you should read this book, let me tell you in confidence that you should go for it. Plunge ahead and enjoy this book just as I did. Go enjoy the adventure in another world, with characters so familiar that they’ll feel like home. It’s a wonderful read. I finished this book in 3 days flat, if that says anything for you.
