The Dead Mans Frontier

A dead man has returned to the frontier—and he may hold the power to decide who owns it.

Major Nathaniel Harwood thought the struggle for Blackwater was finally nearing its end. Instead, the battered survivors of the Frontier Company are drawn back into a conflict more dangerous than anything they have faced before.

Blackwater is being rebuilt. Old alliances are fracturing. Gabriel North has escaped custody, secret Grey Dove records are moving across the wilderness, and a man believed dead for five years is riding toward the settlement carrying evidence capable of overturning everything Harwood and his men have fought to uncover.

Then Blackwater yields an even darker secret.

Hidden beneath the ruined counting house are bodies—and among them may be Samuel Avery, chained to an iron box containing documents and seals that could expose the true foundations of Grey Dove. The discovery points toward four forgotten settlements and Northwatch, where a final charter may give whoever possesses it authority over the entire frontier network.

Now Harwood and his dwindling company must follow the trail north, where old enemies, forgotten soldiers and competing claims are converging.

Because Rooke was never merely a man.

Rooke is the claim.
