Enter a decadent sensual world where gorgeous alpha males are committed to fulfilling a woman's every desire…
Olivier isn’t sure what he’s gotten himself into when he joins the Honey Club, only that a dark part of him hungers for the lifestyle offered by this exclusive club. Here, no boundary will be left untested…and one's deepest fantasies will become an exquisite reality.
When Amélie invites Olivier to surrender, she gives the alpha submissive what he craves. Soon they both find themselves falling harder than they ever anticipated—but as their connection deepens, the truth about Olivier’s past could destroy everything…
Gripping and seductive, The Deep End is the first book in a sensational new series from bestselling author Kristen Ashley.
At excruciating length, Ashley (Ride Steady) immerses readers in the flimsy world of Phoenix's exclusive, no-boundaries Bee's Honey club, where men explore erotic submission. After an extended and boring meet-cute, Am lie, a trained and experienced dominatrix, repeatedly tests alpha-submissive Olivier in the private rooms to see whether their sexual chemistry will persist outside of their relationship in the club. Risibly calling him her "chevalier" and "steed," Am lie wastes no time exploring Olivier inside and out. Scene after scene in the club and at Am lie's ranch might be enjoyable if readers felt invested in the characters, but little is revealed about their history, family, work, or motivations. Am lie has great wealth and hates that her job requires her to travel; beyond that, her actual career is vague. Working-class Olivier hangs out with a group of guys at a lower-end BDSM club; some of his buddies, whose connection is only clarified late in the book, will inevitably star in future installments. Endless scenes of naked bodies interrupted by scant and awkward conversation make for tedious reading and will limit Ashley's ability to build a series whose readers care about the characters.

I have to admit that I was very hesitant to read The Deep End because I just couldn't wrap my mind around the theme. But knowing how much I really love all of her Colorado books, I finally jumped in. And man-oh-man...soooo glad I did. Yes it was a big departure from what I normally read, but the way she takes her time to reveal the reasons why the characters wanted what they wanted helped me get over the newness of the subject matter.
The first couple of chapters are a little crisper of a voice than KA usually writes in, but by the 3rd or 4th chapter, there is the usual vibe you get from her other books.
So, for what it's worth, I highly recommend giving this book a shot. And I loved the supporting characters so much I'm jumping right into the next book.
I've read everything she's written many of them 3-4 times.
Love her characters, real life situations, the relationships.
This book was a real disappointment!
I'm about a hundred pages in and I give up.
There is no story no characters no relationship just kinky S&M sex at a club.
I've read most of Kristin Ashley's books, but I'm sad to say that this one was kind of a let down. I honestly couldn't even finish it and I rarely do that with most books. Although this is an erotic romance most people still want the "Romance" part included, but this was mostly just sex. There wasn't really anything into their real lives about their jobs or many friends. And also the way the characters developed together just didn't do anything for me. Sad to say that I won't be reading the rest of this series..
