Lady Diantha Courtenay and Lord Lucian Eldridge’s meet-cute escalated real quick! I enjoyed that they have different personalities. He was seen as a rake however kind and misunderstood. She was serious however hiding a sensual side. What makes this story better was their parents were enemies, yet they were forced by duty and desire!
This was a well-paced and low angst book. We can enjoy the character development, the plot twist, the anticipation of meeting for dates, and the kissing sessions.
I also enjoyed the secondary characters! The Courtenays were made of eccentric, serious, and middling family members. We can feel the love, irritation, and support. And, I love the message that family doesn’t have to be biological, it could be our own friends!
If you enjoy “love” at first sight, opposites attract, close proximity, found family, nefarious agreements, and amazingly capable women standing up for what’s best, then I highly recommend this book!
