The Disappearing Man

'When you do magic, you do it with someone. You don't lie to them. They're in on it.'

Returning to a once-glittering seaside town, washed-up magician Bazza Cadabra is ready for a final comeback, determined to reclaim the spotlight and prove he's still got what it takes, twenty years on.

Behind it all lies a longed-for reunion with his estranged son – but as shared secrets, old tricks and unfinished business all come into play, the lines between performance and reality start to blur. Does every trick come with a price?

Packed with theatrical flair and emotional punch, The Disappearing Man is a bold exploration of legacy, illusion and second chances. It premiered in 2026 as a co-production between Queen's Theatre Hornchurch and HighTide, and opened at Queen's Theatre Hornchurch before a tour of the UK, directed by Alex Thorpe.
