The Divine Me

“The Divine Me”, an exploration of the spirituality and sociocultural evolution of the African woman. Journey with her across time and continents, as she struggles to maintain her spiritual connections to the Divine. As patriarchy has grown and come to dominate the sociocultural landscape over thousands of years, the African feminine has been relegated from Creator to mother of the son of the Creator, from Warrior Queen to slave, from High Priestess to witch, from Primordial Mother to a mother who struggles to care for herself and her family. This noble and spiritual African woman weathers the storms of life continuously ripping away parts of her until she is unrecognizable to herself and to the world in which she lives. But the Divine Mother’s unrelenting strength is calling to her daughter to find her way back to the woman the Divine created.
