Arthur Stafford was born in Sunderland and had two siblings. He graduated Armstrong College in Newcastle and shortly after moved to Northallerton and was employed as a joiner with Moody's Building Contractors. Sport played a large part in Arthur's life. He was a leading batsman with a cricket team run by Mr Weston-Adamson the owner of the Mount Mansion. Stafford was also a keen amateur boxer and also played rugby union and wrote short stories.
The Dog and the Clever rabbit is a fairy tale by Arthur Stafford. The narrative follows one clever rabbit, which was doing a lot of mischief and thus caused the anger of his neigbours every now and then. Eventually, the wolf gotten fed up with it, and decided to teach the nasty rabbit a harsh lesson. But he was aware of that he was neither nor smarter than the rabbit. So, he asked his brother dog to catch and punish the misbehaver. How would the dog outwit the rabbit? Read and find out!
