The Dome

Reasonably well written and entertaining.

I’ll be honest if so could give it 2.5 stars instead of 3, I would.

I don’t think it’s a BAD book but I certainly don’t think it’s good either.

It definitely has a lot of issues. There’s quite a few grammatical errors and the characters outside of McReady and Abigail seem to be quite shallow. Corliss showed some promise with his ideas of the mutants but I found his whole alpha male/beta male thing kind of cringeworthy.

The plot also isn’t the deepest and I feel like the pacing is a little weird as well. I could honestly see this entire book be about a third of a book. It definitely feels unfinished, but not in the way when you finish a book in a series.

I haven’t read the future installments yet but from this book alone I feel like it would have been better to have the entire series as one book (or maybe a trilogy/duology) opposed to the number of books it currently sits at.

Now with all that being said? It was still really entertaining and enjoyable. I love a good cheesy post apocalyptic action story and this delivered just that.

It’s not the deepest read but it’s certainly a fun one. I’m not sure if I’d have picked it up if it wasn’t free and I’m not sure if I’ll continue the series as I don’t know if the series is really worth the money I’d spend for all the books, but we’ll see. I definitely had fun.

Also: no matter how good it is, the author still wrote a book and should be proud of that fact alone! Self published no less! Good work man!
