In a world left nearly uninhabitable by war and extreme weather a small civilization survives under a dome. When a key part that keeps the dome running breaks a team must go out into a hostile world full of brutal storms, vicious mutants, and gangs of cannibalistic scavengers to find a warehouse where the builders of the domes kept replacement parts.
Leading the journey is Henderson a battle-scarred veteran of the wars that destroyed most of civilization along with his engineer daughter and the soldier she secretly loves. The journey would be dangerous enough but old enemies lurk outside the dome waiting for the chance to seek revenge.

Good storyline
Reasonably well written and entertaining.
If a cheesy B movie was a book instead.
I’ll be honest if so could give it 2.5 stars instead of 3, I would.
I don’t think it’s a BAD book but I certainly don’t think it’s good either.
It definitely has a lot of issues. There’s quite a few grammatical errors and the characters outside of McReady and Abigail seem to be quite shallow. Corliss showed some promise with his ideas of the mutants but I found his whole alpha male/beta male thing kind of cringeworthy.
The plot also isn’t the deepest and I feel like the pacing is a little weird as well. I could honestly see this entire book be about a third of a book. It definitely feels unfinished, but not in the way when you finish a book in a series.
I haven’t read the future installments yet but from this book alone I feel like it would have been better to have the entire series as one book (or maybe a trilogy/duology) opposed to the number of books it currently sits at.
Now with all that being said? It was still really entertaining and enjoyable. I love a good cheesy post apocalyptic action story and this delivered just that.
It’s not the deepest read but it’s certainly a fun one. I’m not sure if I’d have picked it up if it wasn’t free and I’m not sure if I’ll continue the series as I don’t know if the series is really worth the money I’d spend for all the books, but we’ll see. I definitely had fun.
Also: no matter how good it is, the author still wrote a book and should be proud of that fact alone! Self published no less! Good work man!
