With her sapphire eyes and silken dark hair, Princess Eleanor was a bewitching beauty made for a man's pleasure. Once a child bride, but widowed at a tender age, she swore never to marry again and took a vow of eternal chastity...until Simon de Montfort marched into England and set his smoldering dark gaze upon her, King Henry's youngest sister, the royal family's most precious jewel. Bold, arrogant, and invincible, the towering Norman knight inspired awe in the bravest of men...and a reckless desire in Eleanor's untried heart.

Great Reading
Investors read this book many times over the years. Each time is like going back in history and becoming part of it.
It shows how England emerged from the corrupt to the true England of today. What a great love story to be part of the English heritage.
Amazing
This story has it all. It’s part fiction and nonfiction. This author is really one of the best talents ever to write historical romance and I’ve only read 3 books by her so far but knowing I will have enough to keep me enthralled for the next few months it’s such a joy. She sweeps me up and takes me away making me feel like I’m living her stories. I love when a book makes me feel that way. I loved this book as much as Enslaved. I know this is the 2nd book of three but I wasn’t hindered at all not having read the first book yet. I’ll read them in my order depending on my mood. Again, simply amazing!
The Dragon and the Jewel
This is one of my favorite books. I read this book when I was a teenager and I didn't realize that it was based on real people. I was always interested in history but this book made me fall in love with British history. The book is about Simon de Montfort and Eleanor Plantagenet. Simon is the second son (his father was the leader of the Albigensian Crusade) and not due to inherit the land in France. He goes to England to ask the King of England, Henry III, to make a claim on the title Earl of Leicester. He meets Eleanor, the sister of the King and they marry. This story is a beautiful mix of fact and fiction.
