After stepping down as the commander of the Dragon Knights, Hubert asked Melissa to accompany him to his estate and pretend to be his lover. There they found a hostile greeting at the hands of Eleanor, a woman who was fiancée to Hubert's late brother. Good idea, bad writing
I enjoy the idea of this universe with dragon riders and a romance and was looking forward to it. However after finishing this novel I realize the author does not know how to write a proper story. Literally spoils the big mystery the first volume set up for itself in one page of NPC bad guy dialogue that the FL hears leading to a bunch of other cliches that ruins the enjoyment. The author doesn’t know how to show, not tell so I wouldn’t recommend the story past this point.
