Just wonderful!
Mercenary warrior Rafael lives on the edge, determined to grab satisfaction when and where he can, fully aware that his profession comes with risks and that his life could end at any moment. He has neither time nor interest in marriage or family. However, his innate sense of honor forces him to pursue the lovely Ceara when she is abducted by her evil betrothed. Believing her to have been compromised when they return safely to her home, her family forces a marriage between Ceara and Rafael, a marriage he is determined will remain unconsummated and will be annulled at the earliest opportunity. Ceara has other plans. Resisting the beautiful horsewoman and huntress proves increasingly impossible. And when they engage in a battle to recapture Ceara’s ancestral home for her brother, protecting Ceara becomes Rafael’s top priority. Is it weakness for Rafael to admit that Ceara has captured his heart or is it his greatest strength? Ms. Delacroix writes a beautiful story that completely immerses the reader in the time period, with appropriate dialog and morals. While characters from previous books in the series reappear, this book can be read as a standalone, though I highly recommend the entire series because it is just wonderful! A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Not to be missed
When I’m in the mood for historical romance with a little whimsy and fantasy Claire Delacroix always delivers. I love stepping into this world of the Blood Bothers. Rafael’s story to his HEA is just wonderful and unique. This is one book not to missed.
