The Dream Diviner

Claudia has always known things she should not. The dreams began when she was a child, vivid and symbolic, full of blind goddesses and cracked eagles and rotten fruit that only made sense in hindsight. She is the illegitimate niece of Emperor Tiberius, raised inside a palace of whispers and political knives, and she has learned to keep her visions quiet. But on a bright Roman afternoon, she ignores her own warning and takes her friend Viola to hear a Jewish teacher speak near the Forum fountain. The attack that follows is swift, brutal, and exactly what she saw in her sleep the night before.

In the aftermath of blood-soaked streets and funeral pyres, two figures change the course of Claudia's world. Avram, the gentle Hebrew teacher whose stories about a sovereign and purposeful God unsettle everything she thought she understood about the divine, begins to suggest that her visions are not random but chosen. Lucius Pontius Pilate, the sharp-eyed and quietly compelling official who pulled her out of the chaos on horseback, keeps finding reasons to appear at her side. Both are risky. Avram's god demands total devotion in a city that collects gods like jewels. Pilate works for the one man in Rome most likely to destroy them all, the Prefect Sejanus, and Claudia has already seen what a silver chain looks like around a hawk's neck.

What began as curiosity about foreign faiths is becoming something far more costly. The visions grow stronger, the court grows more dangerous, and the question of which god is speaking to her in the dark pulls Claudia further from the life she knows. In a world where the wrong belief, the wrong alliance, or the wrong word overheard by the wrong servant can end everything, she must learn to trust a voice she cannot explain to anyone.

Claudia has seen a murder in her dreams. She just doesn't know it yet.

The Dream Diviner is a sweeping, cinematic historical novel of prophecy, forbidden love, and survival, set at the collision point of Roman power and ancient faith, featuring one of history's most haunting and overlooked women, finally given a voice of her own.
