Publisher Description
Hell-raiser, getaway driver, and occasional knight in tarnished armor Chuck Calder has never had any illusions about being a serious boyfriend. He may not be a good guy, but at least as part of Josh Salinger’s crew of upscale thieves and cons, he can feel good about his job.
Right now, his job is Lucius Broadstone.
Lucius is a blueblood with a brutal past. He uses his fortune and contacts to help people trying to escape abuse, but someone is doing everything they can to stop him. He needs the kind of help only the Salingers can provide. Besides, he hasn’t forgotten the last time he and Chuck Calder collided. The team’s good ol’ boy and good luck charm is a blue-collar handful, but he is genuinely kind. He takes Lucius’s mission seriously, and Lucius has never had that before. In spite of Chuck’s reluctance to admit he’s a nice guy, Lucius wants to know him better.
Chuck’s a guaranteed good time, and Lucius is a forever guy. Can Chuck come to terms with his past and embrace the future Lucius is offering? Or is Good Luck Chuck destined to be driving off into the sunset alone forever?
Customer Reviews
Not just a driver and a good time ….
The Driver by Amy Lane was given to me in exchange for an honest review. Hold onto your seats you are in for a fast and bumpy ride. This latest installment of the Long Con Adventure series continues with Chuck Calder, the driver and munitions specialist in the Salinger Family crew. Lucius Broadstone, a businessman, in desperate need of help to fend off an attack on his company as well as his Shelter for abused women and children. In the previous book the crew helps Lucius find out who was dealing with selling his company’s secrets and technology and though it stopped this prong of attack he has had a series of disturbing events that has put the very women and children he is protecting in jeopardy as well as the financial support his technology company provides his shelter. Lucius sees the worth and love that Charles shows to the Salinger family and wants to be his one and only by showing him that he is more than a one night stand or short term relationship but a forever kind of man. Charles likes Lucius a lot but doesn't see himself as worthy of someone like Lucius. It is a story that gets your heart racing, totally rips your heart out while watching Josh struggle with his treatment, has you cheering for the women and children to finally be able to get their lives back and to watch Charles and Lucius find a happily ever after.
