The Drowned Pact

The Drowned Pact

A Coastal Murders Novel

by Barry Sargent

Alex Rowe left Breaker's Reach behind after exposing the truth no one wanted uncovered.

The town didn't forget her.

When a luxury yacht explodes off the coast during a private gathering of powerful insiders, the deaths are ruled an accident within hours. But the names involved are too familiar, and the silence that follows is too practiced.

Brought back unofficially as an outside investigator, Alex Rowe returns to a town that no longer pretends to welcome her. With no badge authority and no protection, she uncovers evidence of a secret agreement formed years earlier after a devastating storm, a pact that allowed influential families to commit crimes under the cover of emergency, loyalty, and survival.

This time, the murders aren't about revenge.

They're about prevention.

As witnesses recant, records vanish, and pressure closes in from every direction, Alex realizes she's no longer chasing a killer. She's challenging a system designed to protect itself at any cost.

And systems don't go down quietly.

The Drowned Pact is a tense, atmospheric crime thriller about coordinated corruption, enforced silence, and what happens when telling the truth makes you expendable.
