His plans stall, however, when he learns that Seraphina Trew, the woman he married 13 years before and who he believed abandoned him and later died, is actually still alive and now an author living on the Isle of Synne with her younger sisters. Iain tracks her down and convinces her to go back to Scotland with him to get a divorce. Seraphina, who believes that Iain abandoned her, has made some tough choices to support her sisters. She's intimidated that Iain is now a duke and feels unworthy of him. But as they travel together, attraction reignites and they clear up their misconceptions about their relationship's end, coming to realize that Seraphina's father meddled in their lives. Romantic tension between Iain and Seraphina simmers throughout, complicated by misunderstandings and supercharged by the passage of time. This alluring, emotionally charged Regency proves hard to put down.

4.5 Stars! What a fantastic read! This is the 3rd book in the ‘Synneful Spinsters’ series and can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed reading this book. I don’t know how she does it, but author Christina Britton pulls the reader in and gets you emotionally invested in the outcome of the main characters, Iain & Seraphina. I was rooting for them to reconcile. I do wish they had talked more about their years apart and I wish they had paid back her father for his wrongdoings more than what there was. Other than that, this was a great read. A guard parrot, a missing “dead” wife, a stable boy turned Duke, loving sisters and friends, sexy ‘sexy times’, a divorce, an evil father, missing family, and a second chance romance with an HEA ending. It’s a very entertaining book and I’d highly recommend.

Engaging & Engrossing!
Loved reading the engaging and engrossing romance story. After thirteen years, Iain finds out his wife, Seraphina , is alive, and he wants a divorce. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting love story. Can't wait to read the next book by the awesome author, Christina Britton!
